A fire drill was successfully organized at St. John’s High School by the Fire Department on 27th August 2025. The main objective was to create fire safety awareness among students and staff and to ensure proper emergency preparedness.
A total of 2,069 children and all teaching and non-teaching staff (114) actively participated in the exercise. The fire department team demonstrated essential fire safety measures, such as the use of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation procedures, and precautionary steps to prevent fire hazards.
Additionally, a fire brigade vehicle was brought to the school, and officials demonstrated the actual functioning of the fire department, including how they control fire using water hoses and advanced equipment. This practical display greatly helped students understand the real-life functioning of fire-fighters during emergencies.
The drill concluded successfully with the safe and timely evacuation of the entire school premises. The session was highly informative, instilling awareness, confidence, and preparedness among students and staff.
