Today, Class 7C
presented the morning assembly focused on the crucial topic of Mindfulness
and Mental Health. Students began by sharing personal experiences related
to anxiety and stress, highlighting the silent struggles many face despite
appearing physically healthy. The students addressed the stigma surrounding
mental health discussions, supported by statistics pointing to its prevalence,
especially among teenagers.
Mindfulness was
introduced as an effective method to manage mental health issues. Its benefits,
such as reducing stress, improving emotional regulation, and fostering
self-awareness were explained with the help of placards. A practical skit
demonstrated the use of “Box Breathing” as a mindfulness technique,
illustrating how it aids in calming the mind compared to temporary distractions
like video games.
The
students also recited a poemto inspire reflection. The assembly concluded with
suggestions for practicing mindfulness daily, including yoga, mindful walking,
and gratitude journaling, reminding everyone to be patient and kind with
themselves.
