BRIEF DESCIPTION:
The students of Class 5 of St. John’s High School conducted an outreach visit
on 25th February 2026 to SOREM – Society for Rehabilitation and Education of the Differently
Abled, a center committed to the rehabilitation, education, and holistic development of
children with special needs. The visit was organized with the aim of sensitizing students
towards inclusivity and helping them understand the diverse abilities that exist within our
society.
During the visit, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff and children of the
institution. They spent a joyful and meaningful day interacting with the students at the center.
The children enthusiastically sang songs, visited different classrooms, and observed various
learning activities designed for differently-abled learners. They also participated in interactive
sessions where they engaged in conversations, shared smiles, and learned about the unique
ways in which the children at the center learn and express themselves.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the visit was when the students and children from
the center came together to dance and celebrate the spirit of friendship and togetherness. The
experience helped break barriers and created a beautiful environment of acceptance, warmth,
and mutual respect.
The outreach visit proved to be an enriching and eye-opening experience for the students. It
helped them develop empathy and compassion while gaining a deeper understanding of the
challenges faced by differently-abled individuals. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing
kindness, sensitivity, and the true spirit of inclusion among students, encouraging them to
become responsible and compassionate members of society.
