Description: DATE: 22ND APRIL 2025 EVENT: Earth Day Celebration THEME / TOPIC: Earth Day Activities CLASS & SECTION: Classes Prep to 2. LEARNING OUTCOMES: The students will be able to 1. understand why Earth Day is important and develop a sense of personal and collective responsibility for taking care of the Earth. 2. think critically the practical ways to reduce waste, recycle, and conserve energy. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: St. John's High School, Chandigarh commemorated Earth Day with vibrant and meaningful activities that not only sparked creativity but also instilled a strong sense of environmental awareness and responsibility among students. In the Prep classes, children expressed their love for the Earth through imaginative crafts and eco-themed wristbands, proudly displaying the one-liner pledge, “Our Power, Our Planet.” The KG students, through a blend of imagination and teamwork, created beautiful heart designs that symbolized love and care for the environment while enhancing their artistic and emotional growth. Class 1 students designed colorful handprints and wrote thoughtful pledges, affirming their commitment to protecting Mother Earth. Class 2 celebrated under the impactful theme “Earth is in Our Hands,” crafting hand cutouts holding the Earth and writing various ways to safeguard the planet. The students enthusiastically engaged in all activities, with many expressing joy and pride in their creations. Watching the Earth Day video sparked thoughtful conversations, with several students sharing a newfound appreciation for nature and a desire to take real action, such as saving water or planting trees. These activities served as a creative platform to emphasize the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship.
